Unashay: “trance~drone~folk”

“Aimee sings to the angels when they play as if tapping into the origins of human sorrow.”

Unashay gives us music that is primal and full of awe, songs that see as ancient as the foundations of the world. Front person Aimee Wilson draws from diverse musical roots, from Sacred Harp to Persian and Middle Eastern rhythms and melodic lines, but each song is stamped with their unmistakably and utterly personal style. In some songs, gentle and simple guitar lines envelope the listener, gradually taking on exquisite layers instrumentally and vocally, sometimes building to deeply emotional crescendos. Their creative use of shifting rhythms and varying moods embody the lyrical qualities of quiet mystery, painful probing, and exultant praise. And their voice, haunting gift in itself: tremulous and yet incredibly strong.

“Wilson’s singing is thick, quivering in ecstasy and utterly committed.” — Financial Times (4/5 Stars)

(Aimee Wilson on vocals/ guitars, Ben Myler on harmonium/ electric guitar/ and vocals, Vanessa Harris on gamelon and banjo, A.T. on bass, and Kevin Nagler on drums)

Little Spoon River of Michigan:

“Intimate and empowering soundscape experiences”

Little Spoon River is a Michigan based trio tributary of theillalogicalspoon. We’re excited to play at Truth or Consequences Brewing Co. as part of our 2020 winter tour.
We bring with us folk-punk-jazz versions of songs from theillalogicalspoon’s archives, experimental variants, adaptations of traditional tunes, and sing-a-longs with hints of country blues-grunge We’ve adding new, unreleased originals that are seriously fun and funky!
Our life and work with the land shapes us as we shape our musical exploration of wildness and civilization, hope and cynicism, spirit and matter, rootedness and nomadism, love and rage.
