Join Ted Turner Expeditions on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016 for a special ‘Sunrise Solstice’ tour.
Ted Turner’s 350,000 acre Armendaris Ranch is dominated by a prominent and recognizable feature of the southwestern NM landscape, the majestic Fra Cristobal mountain range. Home to dozens of species of wildlife, including oryx, pronghorn, and the elusive but majestic bighorn sheep, the Fra Cristobals are also known for yielding many varieties of Permian-period fossils.
Departing before dawn, you and your guide will enter the beautiful Fra Cristobal foothills as the sun rises over the Armendaris ranch. Wildlife will be most active during the morning twilight, so be alert for your chances to see the dozens of species that frequent the area. Pausing along the way for dramatically-lit photo ops, you will make your way to the Fra Cristobal summit overlook for an easy hike and an opportunity to mark the date in style.
Ted Turner Expeditions will lead this special half-day tour in honor of the pre-historically significant annual event and will have you back in town by noon. This special tour is limited to four guests, and offered at a discounted rate, to create an intimate, and low-impact experience.
