Join Ted Turner Expeditions on a special “Crest to Creek” mountain bike tour of the southern end of Ted Turner’s Ladder Ranch on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016.
Ted Turner’s sprawling Ladder Ranch boasts a wide range of terrain- this is your chance to experience nearly all of them in one fantastic ride! This guided, moderately difficult mountain bike ride covers 6.5 miles (10.46 km) of back roads and historic wagon trails. Your ride begins when your driver drops you and your guide at a staging area atop a ridge near the Ladder Ranch Headquarters. The first leg of the ride traverses the ridge crest with incredible 360-degree views of the Chihuahuan desert, Ladder Ranch, Armendaris Ranch, the Black Range of the Gila National Forest, the Caballo Mountains, and much more. After taking in these stunning, expansive views, you’ll descend the ridge into the lush Animas Creek drainage where you will be picked up again. This trip is all downhill (in a good way!)
You will be provided with state-of-the-art, full suspension Santa Cruz “Tall Boy” bikes, helmets and riding gloves. Please note that this ride has been classified “moderate” in difficulty, so all members of your party should be prepared to utilize technical skills to negotiate uneven terrain. To maintain a low-impact experience, this 5-hour tour is limited to one party (maximum of four riders). Sign up today to take advantage of this special group pricing!
