The Experimental Sounding Rocket Association and the Spaceport America Crew will host and support the world’s largest University rocket engineering competition on the vertical and horizontal launch campuses at Spaceport America.

With over 110 teams from colleges and universities in eleven countries, 2017 will be the competition’s biggest year yet! Students will launch solid, liquid, and hybrid rockets to target altitudes of 10,000 and 30,000 feet.

Presentation and Conference Day: June 20
Spectators are invited to see the rockets (unarmed) on display at the Las Cruces, New Mexico Convention Center. Free to the public. Interact with rocket teams, watch team and industry sponsor presentations, meet recruiters from aerospace companies.

Flight Preparation Day: June 21
Teams will have the entire day to assemble their rocket in the field and test components as needed while being judged. Location: Spaceport America Vertical Launch Area.

Launch Days: June 22-24
Teams will launch and recover rockets. Spectators are welcome. Viewing areas will be set up and teams will show off their rockets after recovery. Cost for spectators: $30 for a 3-day pass or $10 per day.

Under the Stars Awards Banquet: June 24
Dinner, music and fun under the stars on the Spaceport America Gateway to Space apron. Cost: $30 per person.
