Geronimo Springs Museum, 211 Main Street, Truth or Consequences
Art show featuring works by local artists using recycled materials. Some work will be for sale. The show is open during regular Museum hours (9-5 Monday- Saturday, noon-5 Sunday) and during Second Saturday Art Hop, April 13, 6-9 pm.
Best in Show and People’s Choice will be awarded.
Artwork must be made predominantly of recycled or upcycled materials, such as previously used glass, ceramic, plastic, paper, fabric, wood, and scrap metal. Artwork may be newly completed or created in the past. It must be your own work. Artwork that won a prize in a previous Recycling Committee Art show is not eligible for re-entry. Each artist may enter up to 3 pieces, and may price their work for sale or specify it is not for sale. Entry fee $10 for adults, which covers up to 3 entries, payable to TBA Recycling Committee. The fee is waived for student artists (middle school through high school senior). No non-art business solicitation is allowed.
Please RSVP: Help us plan for the show by sending an e-mail to email@example.com, subject Recycled Art Show by April 4, 2019. Let us know how many pieces you plan to enter, and whether they need wall space, table space or floor space. Please let us know the approximate dimensions of unusually large pieces. Entry: Bring your artwork, entry form, and entry fee to Geronimo Springs Museum, 211 Main Street, T or C, Thursday, April 11 between 2 and 5 pm.
Entry forms are available for download, or may be picked up in person at the Geronimo Springs Museum, Rio Bravo Fine Art Gallery, Grapes Gallery, and Desert Archaic in downtown T or C.
Judges’ decisions are final. Cash prizes will be awarded as follows: Adults: $100 first place, $50 second place, $25 third place. Students: first place $50, second place $30, third place $20. People’s Choice Award: $50. A ballot to vote for one piece of artwork will be available to show visitors. The piece receiving the most votes will win the prize; in the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by random drawing. Judges are not eligible for cash prizes.
The Bountiful Alliance Recycling Committee, Geronimo Springs Museum, and the Sierra County Arts Council are not responsible for theft or breakage of artwork, but Museum staff will be on-site and visitors will be instructed not to handle the artwork. The Recycled Art Show will be open to the public during normal museum hours Saturday, April 13-Monday, April 22. The show will also be open during Art Hop April 13, 6-9 pm.
Pick up unsold artwork from the Geronimo Springs Museum Tuesday, April 23 between 2 and 5 pm. The Museum will send you the proceeds of any sales, less a 30% consignment fee as soon as possible, but no later than the end of May.
