The New Mexico State Library Bookmobile West will stop at the Kingston Fire Station on Wednesdays, April 22, May 20, and June 17, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
The New Mexico State Library Bookmobile is a program of NMSL Rural Services, putting books and other library resources (DVDs, audio books, magazines, etc.) in the hands of rural citizens of New Mexico. In addition to entertainment items, the bookmobile has a selection of resources that may benefit farmers, ranchers, craftsmen, and outdoorsmen in their daily work. We also carry items on alternative medicine, sustainable building, the Field-to-Table Movement and southwest gardening. We aim to have titles available that would be of interest to people living in rural areas.
The State Library operates three bookmobiles in the state that target library and information services to persons in underserved and rural communities. Each bookmobile carries up to 4,000 volumes and makes a monthly route of regularly scheduled stops in the rural communities in its region. There are over 4,200 registered customers with the Bookmobile Program.
The New Mexico State Library is committed to providing leadership that promotes effective library services and access to all citizens of New Mexico. The State Library provides services that support public libraries as well as delivers library services to rural populations, state agencies, the visually impaired and physically disabled, and students and citizens conducting research.
