Also known as Red Ale, Amber Ales are darker than Pale Ales, but not as dark as Brown Ales, and are generally described as being medium-bodied and malty. Typical American versions include a citrus hop aroma and flavor, though for the Monticello Green Chile Amber, we added locally roasted green chile instead of hops. The result is a rich, malty ale with a mild, smoky roastiness and a mellow green chile flavor.
