Voted Albuquerque’s best jazz band, Le Chat Lunatique (The Crazy Cat) blends a repertoire of classic Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli compositions with western swing, classical, reggae, doo-wop, and original songs. Featuring Muni Kulasinghe’s theatrical vocals and violin, guitarist John Sandlin’s ferocious dexterity, the slap-happy bass and sly vocals of Jared Putnam, and the grooves of drummer Fernando Garavito. www.lechatlunatique.com
The Hillsboro Community Center is located in the historic adobe high school, on Eleanora Street, next to the Union Church, on the south hill overlooking the town. The suggested donation is only $5.
The Hillsboro Community Center is planning an ongoing series of concerts and dances with regional and touring musicians. Donations will benefit the musicians and the Center, which will also serve refreshments. For a schedule of upcoming events at the HCC, see www.blackrange.org
