Banjo virtuoso Jeff Scroggins is returning to the Hillsboro Community Center with his all-star band Colorado for an afternoon of high-energy, masterful bluegrass entertainment. Jeff has won the prestigious National Bluegrass Banjo Championship, and dozens of banjo contests. Jeff and his son Tristin Scroggins on mandolin are renowned for their lightning-fast licks, and original “traditional” bluegrass compositions. Just 19, Tristin has already won the state mandolin championship in both New Mexico and Arizona.
The band Colorado features the powerful vocals of frontman Greg Blake, twice nominated for “Traditional Male Vocalist of the Year”, and five-time winner of SPBGMA’s Guitarist of the Year. On fiddle is Annie Savage, a conservatory-trained musician and vocalist, with an aggressive fiddle style, with KC Groves on stand-up bass, also an internationally renowned musician, singer and song-writer. www.jeffscrogginsandcolorado.com
