Geronimo Trail National Scenic Byway Visitor Center, 301 S. Foch, Truth or Consequences
As part of the 2018 Truth or Consequences Hot Springs Festival, the Geronimo Trail National Scenic Byway Visitor Center has planned a Silent Auction fundraiser to showcase Sierra County artists and raise funds for the Byway.
Fourteen tables of different sizes were collected and have been sponsored by local businesses. Sierra County artists were then invited to participate in this effort by painting the tables which will be featured in a silent auction at the Geronimo Trail Scenic Byway Visitor Center from April 30 through May 12.
“Putting these works of art on display during the Truth or Consequences Fiesta and the Hot Springs
Festival when increased numbers of visitors are in the Visitor Center will maximize the number of people that will see the tables and enter the silent auction” says LaRena Miller, Executive Director of the Geronimo Trail Scenic Byway. “These really are unique works of art that will be enjoyed for years to come, not only by Sierra County residents but by visitors to our community”.
Sierra County artists that have already stepped up to participate in this fundraising effort include Mary Miller, Carol Plec, Nolan Winkler, Eduardo Alicia, Genna Scartaccini, Ann Yarmal, Chantal Mitchell, Lynda Starr, Dixie Theobald, Judith Anderson and Reed Rische.
Sponsoring businesses include Bullocks, Hot Springs Woman’s Club, C&K Automotive and
Bidding for each table will start at $50 and will close at 8pm on Saturday, May 12.
Residents and visitors alike are invited to view and bid on the tables at the Geronimo Trail Scenic Byway Visitor Center, located at 301 Foch St. in Truth or Consequences.
