Geologist and snowbird Bruce Cox, an active member of the Rock & Gem Society, will share his knowledge of the area’s geology.

The History of San Marcial
The ghost city of San Marcial, once located at the north end of Elephant Butte Lake, has a fascinating history. Damsite Historic District staff historian Will Dooley will present.
February 23, 2022: Austin Wilson
Mammals, Great & Small, of Elephant Butte
Ranger Wilson will present myths and facts on javelinas, coyotes, mule deer, jackrabbits, porcupines, desert-dwelling mice, and other mammals.

Women of the Southwest
Dooley will talk about familiar women of the past including Sadie Orchard, Magnolia Ellis and Ma Hopkins.

Music of Our Ancestors
Singer/guitarist Portillo and singer/drummer Dick will perform music of their native cultures (Mexican and Apache) and provide some background of each piece.
