Date(s) - Sunday January 7, 2018
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Hillsboro Community Center, 316 Elenore Street, Hillsboro
Celebrate 20 years and a million miles of music making with Acoustic Eidolon.
Featuring Joe Scott on the double-necked “guitjo” and Hannah Alkire on cello, this dynamic musical duo has performed in Hillsboro several times, captivating local audiences with their unique instrumentation, their original blend of Celtic, Folk, and World music, and their entertaining personalities and stories.
This last year was magical for AE. Hannah had a new cello built by world renowned cello maker Christopher Dungey, and they discovered there was enough wood to build a new guitar for Joe, making these instruments a matched set. These two instruments were used to write and record many of the songs on AE’s latest CD, A Tree Finds Its Voice, which features new originals as well as surprising new cover tunes. This concert will take the audience on the journey from the tree to the builders’ workshops, the creation of these instruments and the music they’ve inspired. Don’t miss this opportunity to see and hear the premier of these magnificent instruments!
General admission is $10, with seniors, $5 for seniors and Sierra County Arts Council members. Refreshments and CDs will be available. The non-profit Hillsboro Community Center (HCC) is located at 316 Elenora Street, on the south hill overlooking town. For more information on upcoming events see: www.blackrange3.org
